Location: Onsite at our Privia Infusion Center located on 6655 Travis St #600, Houston, TX 77030
The licensed nurse provides high quality care to meet departmental nursing care standards through accurate nursing diagnosis and nursing processes. The nurse responsibly and cost effectively manages equipment, supplies, and ancillary services. The nurse establishes communication and maintains good working relationships with physicians and office personnel to facilitate quality patient care. The licensed nurse adheres to Immunization and Tuberculosis Policy as outlined in the PMG - GC handbook. Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Greet and escort patients to the exam room; make them feel welcome and comfortable
- Prepare and assist patients for infusion; check vital signs, document symptoms, complaints, and medications. Prepare for lab tests, procedures, etc.
- Ensure the patient’s demographic information is correct and updated
- Give injections and/or teach the patient to administer personal injection
- Administer medication by mouth when needed
- Recognize urgent or emergency situations and act appropriately
- Document events in a patient's medical record
- Put charges and diagnoses on charts
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and others
- Perform NST’s and/or scans according to protocol
- Cooperate and interact with team members and co-workers
- Educate patients on health care concerns and problems, medications, testing, etc.
- Skilled in infusion therapy, IV insertion and lab draws
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Practice infection control; dispose of contaminated needles, drugs and supplies properly; use good hand washing technique; disinfect patient areas after use, and clean exam rooms after patients are seen
- Respond to and refer to incoming telephone calls. Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions
- Oversee appointment bookings and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintain timely flow of patients
- Performs related work as required
- 1+ year professional nursing experience in a clinical setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of: Professional nursing theory and evidence-based practice for patient care delivery and evaluation
- Bilingual in English and Spanish Strongly Preferred
- Organizational policies, regulations, and procedures for administering patient care Medical equipment and instruments essential for delivering high-quality patient care
- Common safety hazards and precautions necessary to establish and maintain a secure work environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in: Applying and adapting principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide continuous, high-quality patient care, identifying complex problems and recommending effective solutions
- Preparing and maintaining accurate medical records, composing detailed reports, and responding to correspondence professionally
- Developing and maintaining rigorous department quality assurance standards
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
- Critical abilities include: Maintaining stringent quality control standards, responding calmly and effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations. Also, interpreting, adapting, and applying guidelines and procedures with precision
- Communicating clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms
Education, Certification, and Licensure Requirements:
- Complete an accredited LVN training program
- Current CPR certification
Physical Demands:
This position requires the full range of body motion, including patient handling and lifting. Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination are essential. The role demands standing and walking for extended periods. Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds is necessary. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required. The ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours is crucial for this position.
Compensation range for this vacancy is based on years of experience, education and location.
Hourly range for this vacancy is $27 to $30 per hour.
