The Legal Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Legal Department and reports directly to the Legal Operations Lead. This position is intended for a current college student or recent graduate seeking foundational experience in the legal field. The role supports day-to-day legal operations through document preparation, file management, scheduling, and general administrative assistance while operating in a confidential, professional environment. Training will be provided.
What you'll be Doing

Provide general administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff.

Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute legal documents and correspondence.

Organize, maintain, and update physical and electronic case files and records.

Assist with data entry, filing, and document management.

Answer incoming phone calls, manage emails, and handle internal and external inquiries.

Schedule appointments, meetings, and other legal-related activities.

Coordinate mail distribution, courier services, and office supplies for Legal Department.

Support preparation of reports, memos, and other confidential documents.

Assist with Legal Dashboard updates, invoice tracking, and expense reporting as assigned.

Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as needed.
What You Bring to the Table
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associates degree, current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, or recent graduation preferred, with interest in legal studies, business, or a related field.
Knowledge:

Basic understanding of administrative office practices and procedures.

Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, or document management systems is preferred but not required.

Willingness to learn legal department processes and workflows.

Prior office, clerical, or administrative experience preferred but not required.

Basic administrative or customer service experience is beneficial.
