MRI Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a LabVIEW Software Engineer on the JETS II contract at NASA Johnson Space Center. In this role, you will design and develop software that enables the design, test, and certification of critical flight hardware for NASA's human spaceflight programs.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team of systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers-collaborating directly with NASA civil servants and test facility personnel to develop data acquisition systems, coordinate test activities, and ensure software integrity for missions that matter. Your contributions will support the future of human space exploration as NASA continues its pursuits in deep space.

A typical day might begin with reviewing software requirements for an upcoming test campaign or debugging a CompactRIO data acquisition system on a flight hardware test rig. By midday you could be coordinating with NASA test facility teams on interface requirements, or presenting software design decisions at a technical review. In the afternoon you may be refining LabVIEW object-oriented code, integrating a new communication protocol, or developing test procedures and operations documentation. The work is technically hands-on, mission-driven, and directly connected to the safe development of systems that will carry humans into deep space.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW for system control, system test, data acquisition, data storage, and analysis
  • Experience with data acquisition and processing systems
  • Experience with the CompactRIO RT/FPGA platform
  • Experience with LabVIEW Object-Oriented Programming (LVOOP)
  • Experience using Git for source code control
  • Experience with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python

Preferences:

  • Familiarity with NASA/JSC organizations, processes, and procedures
  • Prior experience supporting spaceflight system development
  • Experience with system interface requirements definition and management
  • Experience with common communication protocols (RS232, RS422/485, MIL-STD-1553, USB)
  • Knowledge of web application frameworks such as ASP.NET
