Summary

 

The Construction Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the human resources operations within the construction division of Green Valley Construction. This role ensures that the organization retains and develops a skilled workforce while maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. The HR Manager will oversee a wide range of HR responsibilities, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, training, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and managing safety programs.

 

Job Description (but not limited to) 

 

-Manage and lead the full-cycle recruitment process for construction workers, Office staff, and management staff.

-Work closely with management to understand workforce needs and develop effective hiring strategies.

-Ensure timely onboarding of new hires, including safety training and introduction to company culture.

-Act as a liaison between employees and management to resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and foster a positive workplace culture.

-Ensure employee concerns, grievances, and complaints are addressed promptly.

-Promote employee engagement by implementing initiatives to improve morale and job satisfaction.

-Develop and implement training programs that address skill gaps, safety standards, and compliance requirements in the construction industry/real estate industry.

-Facilitate ongoing development for employees at all levels, ensuring continuous learning and growth.

-Manage the performance appraisal process for construction staff, offering guidance and support to supervisors and managers.

-Assist in setting performance goals, conducting evaluations, and identifying areas for improvement.

-Develop and implement strategies for employee development and succession planning.

-Work closely with the safety department to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other local, state, and federal safety standards.

-Assist in maintaining and updating safety policies, ensuring that all workers are properly trained and equipped to work safely on construction sites and office.

-Investigate workplace incidents or accidents, maintaining detailed reports and ensuring corrective actions are taken.

-Manage compensation and benefits programs for staff, ensuring competitive wages and fair benefits packages.

-Oversee payroll functions in partnership with operations to ensure accurate and timely compensation.

-Conduct periodic salary reviews and benchmark industry pay standards to maintain market competitiveness.

-Ensure the company’s HR policies and practices comply with labor laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws and employment laws specific to the construction/Real Estate industry.

-Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee documentation, including certifications, contracts, and licenses.

-Maintain HR metrics and reports, tracking key performance indicators such as turnover rates, absenteeism, and training completion.

-Provide regular updates to management on HR initiatives, employee performance, Time tracking and workforce trends.

 

Qualifications:

 

-Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

-Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a construction or industrial environment.

-Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices specific to the construction industry.

-Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and safety compliance.

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.

-Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and maintain a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

-HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

-Able to work alternating weekends 


Physical Demands:

 

The ability to work in a construction environment, which may involve exposure to outdoor elements and construction sites.

 

Occasional travel to various job sites may be required.
