The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to the Human Resources department. This position will report to the HR Manager. Will support the implementation of the HR Strategy and wider business strategy.
The role will for the most part manage the day-to-day functioning of HR practices including accurately entering, updating, and maintaining employee records in HR databases while ensuring compliance with company policies and data protection regulations, staff onboarding including background checks, and complete employee documentation. Additional responsibilities include, recruiting, supporting key strategic initiatives and collaborating with various teams within the business unit.
We are seeking someone who is patient and compassionate, has excellent listening skills, self-starter, focused on meeting deadlines and assignments, and be able to multitask effectively. The position routinely communicates verbally (in-person and by phone) and in writing (email) with HR Manager and may make recommendations to improve work procedures and practices. This position is on-site at our office in Houston, Texas.
This position plays a critical role in developing and executing HR processes that align with the company's culture & goals with a strong focus in talent attraction & retention, engagement, training & development, performance management and total rewards. We are looking for a resourceful and detail-oriented HR Generalist who can wear multiple hats with ease. This role is responsible for managing daily office operations, coordinating company events, handling incoming calls and supporting the Accounts Payable (AP) function.

Human Resources Generalist
- Perform human resources tasks and office administration duties.
- Source for candidates to fill job openings.
- Supports line managers in the recruitment of staff and review of remuneration.
- Supports and advances change management initiatives. Implements culture development, leadership development and staff engagement initiatives that proactively move Tait to being a great place to work and support the achievement of Tait strategic goals.
- Provides relevant and timely management information that supports decision making and monitoring of performance.
- Manages and organizes office operations and procedures including but not limited to bookkeeping, payroll, information management, filing systems, supplies and staffing.
- Orders and maintains office supplies and inventory.
- Maintains office equipment, negotiates and monitors purchase and lease contracts.
- Analyzes and maximizes office productivity.
- Establishes, modifies, implements, and monitors systems and procedures to enhance timely and efficient workflow.
- Establishes and monitors uniform correspondence procedures and style practices.
- Develops and monitors office budget; ensures office activities are conducted within budgetary restrictions; initiates cost reduction programs.
- Manages office(s) security system.
- Prepares reports and correspondence as needed.

Specific Expertise
- 2+ years of HR experience required;
- Office Management experience strongly preferred;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving and emotional intelligence to handle date-to-day interactions;
- Strong skills in communication, presentation and business acumen.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel (Intermediate or Pro Level), Zoom and similar systems;
- Must be an aggressive self-starter with ability to articulate Tait procedures and processes.
