Overview
Conduct day to day operation of the Human Resources department which includes: recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration, payroll administration, compliance with statutory requirements and associates relations activities to champion the Loves culture throughout the hotel.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist associates whenever possible with requests and/or information. Attempt to answer associate questions and/or address associate concerns in a timely manner.
Assists in the administration of all Human Resource functions, including but not limited to, recruitment, training and development, benefit administration, payroll administration and associate relations activities.
Assist in the recruiting, screening and interviewing for all management and non-management hotel positions. Assist the management staff with effective recruiting and interviewing techniques using methods such as verbal presentations and written directions to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified and effective associates. Schedule interviews and process related paperwork.
Attend Job Fairs and seek local recruiting opportunities to assist with filling vacancies.
Monitor and update job requisitions as required. Communicate hotel job openings internally and externally, via bulletin board postings, telephone, letters, referral contacts, telephone Hot Line, etc. pursuant to Company policy.
Maintain applicant tracking system in Workday and ensure all candidates are responded to on a timely basis.
Ensure all new hires and existing associates possess proper employment eligibility verification.
Ensure all employment verifications and background checks are completed timely. Onboard new hires and ensure all tasks are completed in Workday in a timely manner.
Process all transfer requests in the required time frame.
Coordinate training needed for new hires and ongoing training for staff throughout the hotel.
Explain elements of various benefits to associates as required and assist with enrollment and claims processing if needed.
Resolve associates issues by effectively listening and interpreting concerns and objectives and seeking solutions.
Coordinate associate relations events and recognition, as needed, e.g. Town Hall, PAR Meetings, Associate of the Month program, etc.
Control the administration of wages and benefits to ensure the accurate and equitable application of same, analyzing and applying information retrieved from moderately complex reports, manuals and/or computer systems.
Create and update Human Resources bulletin boards and other posting locations as needed.
Coordinate payroll efforts throughout the hotel and submit payroll for processing on a timely and accurate basis.
Prepare correspondence and memos as needed.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Hotel experience preferred.
Knowledge of hotel operations and human resources administration.
Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to ensure communication is concise, well organized, complete, and clear.
Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for a minimum of an eight-hour shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to observe associates in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to areas such as associate performance, grooming, training, policy adherence and morale.
