Westbury Christian School is seeking a passionate High School English Teacher to join our Houston, TX team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to love literature, improve their writing skills, and develop strong communication abilities through engaging, personalized instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum, Christian values, and state standards.
• Integrate faith and learning in meaningful and relevant ways.
• Create a supportive classroom environment where students feel confident expressing ideas.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to improve reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop a comprehensive English program that meets diverse student needs. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and other community initiatives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and support.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.
• Uphold the school's mission, values, and policies.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and the overall school community.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development days, and school events as required.
• Support and participate in the school’s faith development programs.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certificate.
• High school English teaching experience preferred; new graduates with strong enthusiasm for literature and language are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
