Emerson is looking for a dynamic Financial Analyst to become part of the Finance team at the headquarters of our Actuation Technologies business unit. Located in our Houston, TX office, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the financial landscape of our organization. As a Financial Analyst, you will collaborate closely with World Areas and Actuation Technologies' leadership team, facilitating communication and ensuring robust reporting practices. Responsibilities include preparing monthly financial statements, submitting quarterly PORs, and developing annual forecasts for financial assessments and board meetings. You'll also be responsible for consolidating additional reports mandated by the company and orchestrating automation projects to improve our financial reporting processes. Essential skills include analyzing, focusing on details, and problem-solving to support senior management decisions.

 You are a professional with a bachelor’s degree  in accounting or finance, showcasing demonstrated expertise in Accounting and US GAAP. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is crucial, while familiarity with HFM is a valuable asset. Your ability to analyze data, extract important insights, and communicate optimally across diverse teams and geographies sets you apart. Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a key member of the Global HQ Finance department of Actuation Technologies, a business unit within Emerson.
  • Support communication and reporting between the team and leadership at World Regions and Actuation Technologies. 
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual updates to the Actuation Technologies’ Financial Planning Cycle which consist of monthly financial statement reporting, quarterly POR submission, annual forecast creation, financial reviews, board meetings, and profit plan. 
  • Consolidate world areas quarterly and annual supplemental reporting required by corporate.
  • Drive and implement automation opportunities in our regular financial reporting procedures. 
  • Collaborate with other functional areas within the organization during preparation of financial information.
  • Compose, analyze, and review ad-hoc management inquires of key financial metrics for decision support for senior leadership as requested.
  • Employees in this salaried exempt role may occasionally be required to work additional hours beyond their regular schedule to fulfill business needs and meet critical deadlines.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar required.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance field. 
  • Lead multiple projects, demonstrate proven accounting and US GAAP knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, detail oriented and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate patience, perseverance, and flexibility.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • CPA certification or experience working for a CPA firm.
  • HFM knowledge is a plus.
