Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Enterprise System Administrator is responsible for installing configuring and maintaining enterprise applications such as email, active directory, and other collaborative technologies in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Requires a thorough understanding of Active Directory including forest and trust concepts. Works with latest Microsoft technologies including O365, Skype for Business, Exchange Online, federation services, and MDM platforms. Understands and can troubleshoot and diagnose DNS and hierarchical based systems. Works well in a team environment and communicates effectively with peers and customers.
The Enterprise System Administrator will work in a team environment overseeing Infrastructure Applications and Services, including:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise applications and complex identity services, including multi-forest Active Directory environments, cross-forest trusts, child domains, GPOs, and Entra ID.
Managing enterprise messaging, edge security, and collaboration platforms, specifically Cisco IronPort (Secure Email Gateway), Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) On-Premises, Exchange 365 / Exchange Online hybrid environments, and Microsoft Teams.
Overseeing inbound and outbound mail flow security, including Cisco IronPort policy controls, content filters, blocklists, and messaging coexistence/synchronization across hybrid cloud and cross-domain boundaries.
Automating system administration and infrastructure tasks across multiple domains using advanced scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline server deployment, bulk object lifecycle management, and metadata cleanup.
Overseeing core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, PKI) and the lifecycle management of enterprise servers in a distributed network architecture.
Designing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery, backup solutions, and high-availability server clusters.
Monitoring system performance and capacity needs for all supported applications, databases, and core collaboration/gateway infrastructure.
Coordinating with customers and departmental users across different domains to troubleshoot complex mail flow and cross-boundary issues, providing high-level ticket support, and driving problem resolution.
Maintaining server and application documentation.
Collaborating with Cybersecurity, Desktop Endpoint, and compliance teams to ensure appropriate patch management, gateway security baselines, and cross-forest access-control alignment.
Performing other duties as assigned by the department.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field plus 4 years of progressive enterprise systems administration experience
OR
High School diploma/GED plus 8 years of progressive enterprise systems administration experience
Experience:
Five (5) years of IT work experience supporting servers and software applications and problem solving/troubleshooting.
Proven advanced experience supporting servers and enterprise applications (including O365, Exchange, and Active Directory) in a large enterprise, advanced experience supporting Microsoft productivity applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills.
Advanced experience supporting PC operating system and hardware.
Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
The ability to interact with staff at all levels, including VIPs.
The ability to work independently with a high level of productivity and accuracy.
Ability to work extended hours occasionally on special projects or emergency activations.
MUST have exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot complicated issues.

Experience:
Five (5) years of experience managing Active Directory and DNS systems.
Knowledge of ITIL, change management, active directory and group policy concepts is a plus.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Certifications including Azure experience.
Work Schedule:
Mon. - Fri., 40Hrs
Hybrid Schedule: Minimum 2 Days In-Office (Non- Negotiable)
May be required to work more than forty hours during the workweek and/or weekends or on-call 24 hours a day to meet special projects or deadlines
