Internship Overview

Powell’s 10-week paid internship program offers college students hands-on experience, professional training, and the opportunity to make an impact through a meaningful project aligned with your field of study. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll focus on gaining valuable skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Project Focus

  • Intern Project:
  • Update PowerVac breaker assembly part number descriptions.
  • Check all PVM breaker part numbers in Prod and Preliminary that they have the correct Bkr Asm part number and VI Asm.
  • Compare Wiring design hrs in Analytics ACAD vs. Promise, for jobs shipped 2024.
  • Complete and send out As Built drawings to customer.
  • Provide Tech Review customer package, reviewing all customer submitted information.
  • Expected Deliverables:
  • All PowerVac breaker assembly part number descriptions updated.
  • Show cost Wiring design hrs ACAD vs. Promise.
  • All PVM breaker part numbers have correct assemblies.
  • Complete and send out As Built drawings to customer.
  • Provide TR customer package, reviewing all customer submitted information.
  • How does this project benefit Powell or your functional area?
  • PowerVac BOMs correct validates that parts ordered match breaker assemblies ordered.
  • Wiring Design hours will determine if cost savings are realized.
  • Producing As Builts and Tech Review will provide productivity for the Production Engineering and Wiring Desing team.
  • Desired Major: Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Who We’re Looking For

  • We seek motivated, curious, and driven students with the following qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Rising Junior or Senior continuing studies in Fall 2027.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA and strong academic standing.
  • Team player with strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a dependable, can-do attitude.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with CAD.
