Key Responsibilities
ESD Program Development & ManagementDevelop, implement, and maintain an ESD control program in accordance with ANSI/ESD S20.20, JEDEC, or other relevant standards.
Define ESD protection requirements for manufacturing, testing, and assembly environments.
Lead ESD certification and compliance activities for internal and external facilities.
Design & Process Integration
Collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure ESD protection is built into products and processes.
Review circuit designs and layouts for ESD robustness (HBM, CDM, MM).
Recommend ESD-safe materials, equipment, and handling procedures.
Testing & Validation
Perform ESD stress testing (HBM, MM, CDM) and analyze results to identify weak points.
Support failure analysis of ESD-related product issues.
Maintain ESD test equipment and ensure calibration of traceability.
Training & Auditing
Conduct ESD training for engineers, operators, and technicians.
Perform regular ESD audits of labs, production lines, and storage areas.
Document audit findings and drive corrective/preventive actions.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain ESD control plans, risk assessments, and compliance reports.
Generate technical documentation and test reports for internal and customer use.
Track ESD metrics and lead to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
3 years of experience in ESD engineering, reliability, or semiconductor/electronics manufacturing.
Strong understanding of ESD models (HBM, CDM, MM), ESD testing methods, and protection design principles.
Experience with ESD control standards (ANSI/ESD S20.20, IEC 61340, JEDEC JS-001/002).
Hands-on experience with ESD test systems and measurement equipment.
