QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management preferred.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  3. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as an Owner’s Representative in the planning, design, and construction of educational facilities preferred.
  4. Requires excellent organizational, communication, administrative skills, and personal relations.
  5. A leadership ability to communicate effectively with District personnel, architects, contractors, the Facilities and Construction team, and community patrons.
  6. Clear and valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record according to Texas standards for school bus drivers.
  7. Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and codes applicable to health and safety and construction processes, products, and equipment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual Contract 250 Days

 

SALARY:

$111,073  (BA 9)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee Project Coordinators and Special Projects Manager within the Facilities and Construction
  2. Establish department policies and procedures for the successful delivery of construction projects.
  3. Represent the District during inspections by all relevant authorities having jurisdiction.
  4. Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state mandates, District regulations, and bond fund requirements.
  5. Responsible for the assignment of project teams in the coordination of construction projects.
  6. Prepare evaluation reports of architects, engineering consultants, and general contractors.
  7. Attend construction meetings and perform job site visits as required to provide continuous feedback and input on construction progress.
  8. Represent the district in disputes involving the design, drawings, or speci?cations involving the architect or contractor.
  9. Responsible for project compliance with CFISD construction standards and speci?cations.
  10. Maintain Facilities and Construction Department construction standards.
  11. Assist with the receipt of proposal and evaluation phase for construction contract award recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
  12. Coordinate with other CFISD Departments as necessary in order to support the multidisciplinary mission of CFISD and provide an e?cient communication channel for the coordination of project activities and problem resolution.
  13. Develop and maintain communication with building principals and administrators during all phases of projects.
  14. Work with the Maintenance and Operations Department to ensure input from departments during all project phases.
  15. Work with the Director of Design and Facilities Planning on maintaining design guidelines and construction speci?cations.
  1. Attend project design meetings as necessary to assist the Design Department with compliance with CFISD construction standards and speci?cations.
  2. Work with the Director of Project Management on maintaining CFISD Team Guide
  3. Work with the Director of Contract Management to ensure proper procedural requirements are followed and assist with project closeout.
  4. Coordinate with campus staff and CFISD leadership to resolve issues on campuses that could cause disruption to normal operating activities. May require night, weekend, holiday work.
  5. Responsible for the design, construction, and inspection of District hardware in coordination with the Design, Maintenance, and Security Departments.
  6. Conduct performance evaluations and handles personnel issues.
  7. Complete appropriate reviews and recommendations on promotions, salary, and other personnel matters.
  8. Establish goals, determines resource requirements, and allocate available resources to meet those goals.
  9. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and district local and legal board policies and administrative regulations.
  10. Attend CFISD Board of Trustee’s Meetings as required to represent the Facilities and Construction Department.
  11. Reliable and regular attendance.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Construction and the Associate Superintendent/Chief Operations O?cer.

2. Frequent district-wide travel utilizing personal or district vehicles.
3. Frequent standing, and walking: moderate bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
4. Maintain emotional control under stress.
5. Occasional prolonged and irregular work hours including, but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.
6. Prolonged use of a computer.
7. Work around construction machinery with moving parts.
8. Work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspections of facilities and construction projects.
9. Work on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding.
