The City of Jersey Village is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Court Administrator to lead the daily operations of our Municipal Court. This key leadership role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of court processes while supervising court staff and maintaining compliance with Texas law.

Administration & Operations
Plan, organize, and supervise daily Municipal Court activities
Manage court dockets, citations, and warrants
Coordinate schedules for Judges, Prosecutors, and Court Clerks
Supervise and evaluate Court Clerk staff
Compliance & Legal
Oversee criminal proceedings and docketing processes
Interpret and implement new laws and ensure compliance with Texas statutes and City ordinances
Serve as Court Clerk when required
Financial Accountability
Manage receipting, deposits, and accounting for court fines and fees
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to city/state officials
Administer the Municipal Court budget and recommend improvements
Records, Reporting & Technology
Maintain court records in compliance with retention requirements
Prepare statistical and narrative reports for management and City Council
Monitor and maintain the court case management system
Identify technology improvements to enhance efficiency
Customer Service
Coordinate with judges, prosecutors, police, attorneys, and the public
Resolve customer concerns professionally
Provide counter and phone assistance as needed
Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field
Five (5) years of experience in court administration/management or public administration and finance
Two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience
Level II Clerk Certification from TMCEC
Ability to obtain Level III TMCEC Certification within three years
Strong knowledge of municipal court procedures, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, and court financial practices
Spanish proficiency
Working knowledge of Tyler case management software
Thorough knowledge of municipal court operations and legal terminology
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities
Effective written and verbal communication
Ability to interpret laws, analyze data, and prepare reports
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and court software systems
Work is performed in a standard office setting and may involve prolonged sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting. The position requires the ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
