The Role at a Glance:

Join Elior North America and play a vital role in managing cash flow, applications, and reconciliations during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Based in Houston, TX, this position is focused on ensuring accuracy in cash transactions, supporting collections, and strengthening internal controls that safeguard financial stability.

As a Cash Accountant, you’ll collaborate with Finance teams across multiple business segments to drive efficient shared services operations. This role provides the opportunity to streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts—all while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where adaptability is key.

What you’ll be doing:

• Process and apply customer payments accurately and in a timely manner across multiple accounts and systems.
• Monitor and reconcile daily cash activity, ensuring alignment between bank records and company ledgers.
• Support the collections process by tracking outstanding receivables, resolving discrepancies, and engaging with stakeholders.
• Assist with preparing journal entries and month-end reconciliations related to cash accounts.
• Strengthen internal controls by identifying process improvements and supporting audit/compliance requirements.
• Partner with Finance and Operations teams to improve efficiency and accuracy in shared services processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2 + years of accounting experience, with emphasis on cash applications, reconciliations, or accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and internal control practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with large volumes of transactions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Finance and Operations teams.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Work Location

This position is based on site at our corporate office in Houston, TX, four days a week, with the option to work remotely one day per week. The office address is 4920 Westway Park Blvd, Houston, TX 77041.

Compensation

Compensation for this role ranges from $28-$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
