Reports To:  Director of Career Transition/Recruiting

 

Job Type:  Full-Time

 

Salary & Commission:  $70,000 - $80,000 base pay, plus a commission structure per client, of:  15% in the first year, 7.5% in the second year, and 0% the third year and after.  Commissions paid monthly, if submitted timely.

Job Summary:

As a Career Transition/Outplacement Services Sales Manager for these services, you will be responsible for generating leads, developing relationships with HR leaders and decision-makers, and closing new business opportunities.  You’ll play a key role in helping organizations provide supportive offboarding solutions for employees affected by layoffs, restructuring, or rightsizing, or recruiting, talent development, and temporary staffing.  The number one driver for this position is increasing gross profit.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities in HR, talent acquisition, and organizational development sectors to increase the company’s overall gross profit.

  • Set qualified appointments with prospective clients in assigned territories.

  • Increase gross profit growth by moving prospects through discovery, proposals, negotiations, and closing new accounts.
  • Conduct outreach through email, calls, LinkedIn, and events to build a qualified pipeline.
  • Present outplacement services and solutions tailored to the client’s needs.
  • Schedule and lead discovery calls, product demos, and proposal meetings.
  • Collaborate with marketing to execute lead generation campaigns.

  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM records, including lead status, call notes, and meeting outcomes.
  • Track and analyze weekly activity metrics, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Build long-term relationships to generate repeat and referral business.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.
  • Manage in-house potential/client database – Zenople.

 

Qualifications:


  • Preferred 3 - 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in HR solutions.
  • Familiarity with outplacement, HR consulting, or talent solutions is a strong plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, and people skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong networking contacts and capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable with outbound prospecting.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, marketing, or related field preferred.

Working Conditions:


  • Some field travel is required, Houston metro, possibility Dallas, Austin, etc., for client meetings.

  • Mileage reimbursement provided according to company policy.

 

Performance Expectations for the First Year:

  • Generate $300K – $800K+ in new revenue by closing multiple net-new client accounts and contributing directly to gross profit growth.
  • Build and maintain a consistent 3 – 5 times pipeline through disciplined outbound prospecting, discovery, and opportunity management.
  • Establish a strong HR network in Houston/Dallas, becoming a trusted partner for layoffs, restructuring, and talent solutions.
  • Demonstrate high activity and conversion discipline (50 – 100+ weekly outbound touches, steady meetings, proposals, and deal progression).
  • Achieve full ramp by 4 – 6 months and consistent production by year-end, including repeat business and referral-driven opportunities.
