We are looking for a CAD Designer II to join our Houston team. This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking an experienced professional who can work independently, support engineering teams, and produce high-quality, manufacturing-ready drawings.
The Role
The CAD Designer II is an intermediate-level position responsible for independently creating and maintaining accurate engineering drawings and documentation. This role works closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure designs are clear, complete, and ready for production.
What You Will Do
- Independently create and revise 2D and 3D drawings from engineering input
- Apply company drafting standards, symbols, and revision control consistently
- Collaborate with engineers to clarify design intent and resolve drawing issues
- Prepare drawing packages and supporting documentation for manufacturing
- Maintain organized and accurate CAD file structures
- Identify and correct drafting errors, conflicts, or omissions
- Support engineering, manufacturing, and marketing with technical documentation
What We Are Looking For
Experience Requirements (Strong Emphasis):
- 5 plus years of CAD drafting experience required
- Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Education and Technical Skills:
- Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field
- CAD certification preferred
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of drafting standards and document control
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time role, typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime as needed
- Primarily office-based with minimal physical demands
- Occasional interaction with warehouse and operations teams
- Minimal to moderate travel may be required
