Overview:

Everest is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Vice President Underwriter to join our Energy Excess Casualty team. Based in our Houston office, this market-facing role will be responsible for underwriting both new and renewal accounts while cultivating strong relationships with brokers and clients across the energy sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Key responsibilities for the position include new and renewal business underwriting of Energy and Energy related accounts;

  • Maintaining and enhancing portfolio profitability through pricing discipline, risk selection, exposure analysis and portfolio management;

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers to facilitate new and renewal business;

  • Adhering to underwriting guidelines and protocols;

  • Driving top-notch service and collaboration with other products lines to provide full product support to Everest clients;

  • Travel is required to visit brokers, conferences, site visits, etc.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or above and/or insurance certifications;

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting energy excess casualty;

  • Strong producer following in retail and wholesale distribution channels;

  • Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business;

  • Strong relationship management skills;

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills;

  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment;

  • Customer-oriented approach.

The base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $207,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
