Assistant Property Manager
The Assistant Property Manager supports the efficient operation of the community by ensuring tenant needs are met, leasing activities run smoothly, and accounting/reporting tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Job Specifications
- Strong knowledge of property management laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Proficiency in leasing, occupancy tracking, and rent collection reporting.
- Familiarity with sales and marketing concepts.
- Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
- Excellent customer service, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Yardi software.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving ability with a customer-focused mindset.
- Highly organized with strong planning skills.
- Team-oriented and able to follow company standards and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Perform Leasing Consultant duties as needed, including tenant interviews, apartment showings, and lease preparation.
- Collect rent, issue receipts, and process accounting entries for accounts receivable/payable.
- Assist with month-end reporting to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
- Prepare and make bank deposits as assigned.
- Coordinate approved vendor services (landscaping, pest control, carpet cleaning, etc.).
- Act as Property Manager when required.
- Inspect vacated units to assess repair and maintenance needs.
- Address and resolve tenant complaints or disputes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in multi-family residential property management.
